We research every grant, rebate, and free home improvement program we can find — and put them in one place, organized so you can actually find what you qualify for.
Homeowners deserve easy access to grant information. The problem is that it's scattered everywhere — buried in city PDFs, hidden on obscure program websites, distributed across dozens of phone numbers and office hours and application portals that change every year.
A homeowner who knows exactly what they're looking for might still spend hours figuring out whether they qualify, how much they can get, and how to actually apply. Most people don't even know what's available in the first place.
That's the gap The Grant Map fills. We do the research, keep it updated, and organize it so you can find what you qualify for in minutes — not hours.
We started with Des Moines. The city has a surprisingly robust set of neighborhood investment programs, but awareness was low. We built dsmgrants.com as a free community guide for Des Moines homeowners, and the response told us people wanted this everywhere — not just here.
So we expanded. We're now live in 16 cities and tracking 562+ programs, and we're adding more.
We research every grant, rebate, forgivable loan, low-interest loan, tax credit, and free program we can find at the city, county, state, utility, and federal level. We verify details, track deadlines, and organize programs so you can filter by what actually matters: your location, what kind of work you're doing, and your income or status (veteran, senior, etc.).
You tell us your address and situation. We show you what you likely qualify for. You verify directly with the program and apply.
That's it. We don't take a cut of your grant, we don't charge application fees, and we don't sell your information.
Grant programs change. Funding runs out mid-year. Income limits get adjusted. Deadlines move. We update The Grant Map regularly, but we can't guarantee that every single program is current at the exact moment you're reading it.
Always verify program details directly with the administering organization before making any decisions. We list program contacts and official websites for exactly this reason.
The Grant Map is completely free for homeowners. We keep it that way by earning from three sources — none of which are you:
The Grant Map is built and operated by StanHattie LLC, based in Des Moines, Iowa. We're a small team focused on building tools that give regular people access to information that's technically public but practically inaccessible.
We're open to partnerships with housing nonprofits, city governments, community development organizations, and contractors who serve grant-eligible homeowners.
If you administer a program and want to make sure your data is accurate on our site, or if you represent an organization that works with the homeowners we serve, reach out.
Email partnerships@thegrantmap.com — we'd love to hear from you.
