About This Program

Anchorage provides a property tax exemption of up to $150,000 of assessed value for homeowners age 65 or older who own and occupy their primary residence. Applicants must be 65 on or before December 31 of the prior year and must have been Alaska residents for the entire prior calendar year. The application deadline is March 15 of the applicable tax year.
