VITA provides free federal tax preparation and e-filing for Anchorage households earning $67,000 or less, people with disabilities, and limited English speakers. In Anchorage, VITA sites are coordinated through United Way of Anchorage and community organizations. IRS-certified volunteers help maximize the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and other credits. Alaska has no state income tax.
