About This Program

Qualifying veterans who own and occupy their Boston home receive a $412 property tax reduction annually under Clause 22. Veterans must have been a Massachusetts resident for at least six months before entering service, or have lived in Massachusetts for at least one year after discharge. Higher exemptions are available under Clauses 22A–22F for veterans with service-connected disabilities, with the City potentially granting additional relief beyond the base $412.
