About This Program

Qualifying disabled veterans receive a property tax exclusion on the first $75,000 of their home's appraised value (effective tax years beginning July 1, 2025; increasing to $125,000 as of July 1, 2026). Eligible veterans must have a 100% permanent total service-connected disability or receive VA specially adapted housing benefits. There are no income or age requirements.

Annual tax savings based on Mecklenburg County rate applied to $75,000 exclusion.
