About This Program

The City of Chicago Department of Family and Support Services administers Head Start and Early Head Start programs through dozens of community-based organizations. Chicago also offers universal Pre-K through Chicago Public Schools. Head Start provides free comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, mental health, and family support to low-income families.
