About This Program

Honorably discharged veterans with a VA-rated 100% permanent service-connected disability (or individual unemployability status) qualify for a 50% property tax exemption on the first $300,000 of actual home value. Surviving spouses of qualifying veterans also qualify. There is no income test or length-of-ownership requirement for veterans (unlike the senior exemption).

At Denver's mill levy, 50% of $300,000 exempted value saves approximately $1,000–$2,500/year depending on total tax rate.
