About This Program

Michigan fully exempts the homestead of veterans who are 100% permanently and totally disabled (VA-rated), or who received VA specially adapted housing aid, or are rated individually unemployable. No income limit. As of 2025, existing eligible veterans no longer need to reapply. Un-remarried surviving spouses also qualify. This is a permanent annual savings that can be redirected to home repairs.
