Texas Disabled Person Property Tax Exemption

Texas Comptroller / Tarrant County Appraisal District

active property-tax-relief

About This Program

Texas homeowners who qualify as disabled under Social Security standards receive an additional $10,000 school district exemption plus a school tax ceiling (freeze), similar to the Over-65 exemption. This prevents school property taxes from increasing as long as the disabled person owns and occupies the property.

School tax freeze prevents school taxes from ever increasing — valuable long-term benefit
