About This Program

Harris County Department of Education operates one of the largest Head Start programs in the nation, serving thousands of Houston-area children. Programs offer free comprehensive early childhood education, health, dental, nutrition, and family support services. Early Head Start serves infants and toddlers; Head Start serves preschoolers 3–5 in center and home-based settings.
