About This Program

Florida offers tiered property tax relief for disabled veterans. Veterans with a VA-certified service-connected disability of 10% or greater receive a $5,000 assessed value reduction. Veterans with a total and permanent service-connected disability are exempt from all ad valorem taxes on their homesteaded property. The full exemption transfers to a surviving spouse who remains in the home. Apply at the Duval County Property Appraiser's office with VA disability documentation.
