About This Program

Veterans who are Florida permanent residents, honorably discharged, and certified by the VA as having a total and permanent service-connected disability are fully exempt from all ad valorem taxes on their homesteaded property. This exemption survives to a surviving spouse if the spouse maintains homestead and does not remarry. Application requires VA letter confirming total and permanent disability status.

Total exemption — no property taxes owed on homesteaded property. Surviving spouse retains the exemption. Must apply by March 1 with VA certification letter.
