About This Program

Florida provides a full property tax exemption for homesteaded residences owned by paraplegic, hemiplegic, or other totally and permanently disabled homeowners who use a wheelchair for mobility or who are legally blind, provided the gross household income does not exceed $37,712 (2026 limit). Additionally, any permanent disability qualifies for a $500 exemption with physician certification, which can be stacked with other exemptions.
