About This Program

Florida veterans with an honorable discharge and a VA-certified service-connected disability rating of 10% or greater are entitled to a $5,000 reduction in their property's assessed value. This exemption does not require homestead status and can be stacked with the standard homestead exemption and other applicable exemptions. Veterans age 65+ with combat-related disability may qualify for an additional sliding-scale exemption.

This is a $5,000 assessed value reduction, not a full exemption. At Miami-Dade millage rates, saves approximately $95–$120/year. Can be stacked with homestead and senior exemptions.
