About This Program

Louisiana's Homestead Exemption allows Orleans Parish homeowners to exempt the first $75,000 of their home's fair market value from property taxes (equivalent to $7,500 of assessed value). Additional options include the Special Assessment Level (Age Freeze) for seniors, Disability Freeze, and First Responder Exemption. The exemption remains in place as long as the homeowner continues to live in and own the property.
