Oklahoma County Assessor's Office
Oklahoma homeowners who occupy their home as their primary residence may receive the Homestead Exemption, which reduces the assessed value of the property by $1,000. An Additional (Double) Homestead Exemption provides a second $1,000 reduction for income-qualifying households. Together these reduce annual property tax bills and must be applied for through the county assessor's office.
Tax savings depend on local millage rate; typical annual savings of $100-$200
Deadline: File by March 15 of the tax year; one-time application for continuing owners
