About This Program

Utah provides a property tax exemption for veterans with service-connected disabilities, proportional to the disability rating. The 2025 maximum exemption is $521,620 in property value; 100% disabled veterans receive the full exemption. Veterans with ratings between 10–99% receive the corresponding percentage of the maximum. Surviving spouses and minor orphaned children may also qualify.

100% disabled veteran: up to $521,620 in property value exempt from taxation. 50% disabled: ~$260,810 exempt. Actual tax savings depend on local mill rate.
