About This Program

Utah provides a 25% state income tax credit (up to $2,000 for residential solar PV) on the purchase and installation of qualifying renewable energy systems. Combined with the 30% federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), homeowners can offset up to 55% of solar installation costs. Unused credits may carry forward up to 5 years. The credit applies to solar PV, solar thermal, wind, and geothermal systems.
