About This Program

Texas homeowners age 65 or older, or those with qualifying disabilities, receive an additional $10,000 school district exemption on top of the standard homestead exemption, plus a school district tax freeze preventing future increases. Bexar County and the City of San Antonio may provide additional local option exemptions. Disabled persons must meet Social Security Administration disability standards.
