About This Program

NYS exemption reduces assessed property value by 15% for wartime service + 10% for combat zone service. Additional reduction equal to half of VA disability rating. Effective January 2026, 100% service-connected disabled veterans can qualify for full property tax exemption if local jurisdiction adopts the new law (S.1183).

Wartime service required, file by March 1 annually
