About This Program

Florida provides property tax relief for disabled veterans beyond the standard homestead exemption. Veterans with a VA-certified service-connected disability of 10% or greater receive a $5,000 exemption off assessed value. Veterans with a 100% total and permanent disability rating pay zero ad valorem taxes on their homestead. Surviving spouses of qualifying veterans may also be eligible.

100% disabled T&P veterans pay $0 in ad valorem property taxes on homestead. 10–99% disability: $5,000 off assessed value.
