About This Program

Free or low-cost HUD-approved housing counseling and homebuyer education provided by Housing Counseling Services Inc. (HCS), one of DC's longest-standing HUD-approved agencies. Services include pre-purchase education, one-on-one counseling, credit coaching, and foreclosure prevention. Certificate of completion is required for DC's Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP) and other DHCD down payment assistance programs.
