About This Program

The City of Birmingham's Critical Repair Program provides up to $30,000 in health-and-safety home repairs to approximately 100 low-to-moderate income homeowners per year, funded by $1.5 million in annual CDBG allocations from HUD. Eligible repairs include leaking roofs, plumbing failures, electrical hazards, and HVAC system replacements. Applicants must own and occupy the home and be current on property taxes.
