About This Program

The VA Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grant helps veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities adapt or purchase a home to meet their disability-related needs. The SAH grant provides up to $121,812 (FY2025) for major adaptations; the Special Housing Adaptation (SHA) grant provides up to $24,405 for lesser modifications. Veterans may use the grant up to three times, not to exceed the lifetime maximum.
