Maryland DHCD / Maryland Department of Aging
The Accessible Homes for Seniors program, jointly administered by Maryland DHCD and the Maryland Department of Aging, provides zero-percent interest deferred loans or grants of up to $25,000 to income-eligible homeowners age 55 and older for accessibility modifications that allow them to remain safely in their homes. Eligible improvements include grab bars, railing installation, doorway widening, and ramp construction. Grants (rather than loans) are available when the applicant does not qualify for loan funding.
