About This Program

The Alabama Weatherization Assistance Program provides free energy efficiency improvements to income-eligible homes across all 67 Alabama counties, administered through ADECA and local community action agencies. Typical measures include insulation, air sealing, heating system tune-ups and repairs, and health and safety inspections. Priority is given to elderly residents, people with disabilities, and families with children.

No out-of-pocket cost to eligible households; DOE average per-unit cost ~$6,500.
