About This Program

The VA's SAH grant (up to $126,526 in FY2026) helps veterans with severe service-connected disabilities purchase or build an adapted home, or modify an existing home to accommodate their disability. The SHA grant (up to $25,350) assists veterans with less severe service-connected disabilities in adapting their home. Both grants can be used up to six times over a veteran's lifetime.

SAH: up to $126,526; SHA: up to $25,350; both usable up to 6 times.
