About This Program

Mecklenburg County DSS administers federal LIEAP/LIHEAP funds providing one-time annual payments toward heating or cooling bills for qualifying households. Applications accepted by phone, in-person at Freedom Drive or Scarborough Center offices. Income limit is 130% FPL (150% FPL for elderly and disabled). Benefits are applied directly to utility accounts.
