About This Program

North Carolina veterans with a 100% total and permanent service-connected disability rating from the VA, or who receive VA specially adapted housing benefits, may exclude the first $45,000 of their primary residence's appraised value from property taxation under N.C.G.S. 105-277.1C. Unmarried surviving spouses of qualifying veterans also qualify. There is no income or age requirement. Submit Form NCDVA-9 (certified by the NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs) along with Form AV-9 to the Guilford County Tax Department.
