About This Program

New Orleans has committed approximately $4 million toward an owner-occupied FORTIFIED Roof Program for low-income homeowners as part of its $14.6 million housing plan. The program, implemented in partnership with Rebuilding Together New Orleans, provides free IBHS FORTIFIED roof replacements that can significantly reduce hurricane-related damage and may lower insurance premiums.

Free FORTIFIED roof replacement; value approximately $8,000–$18,000 depending on roof size. May also reduce insurance premiums.
