About This Program

USDA Section 504 provides repair loans at 1% interest and grants up to $10,000 for very low-income rural homeowners 62+ to remove health and safety hazards. Combined assistance reaches $50,000. While most of New Orleans is urban, some outlying or rural parish areas in the metro region may qualify; verify eligibility by address at rd.usda.gov.
