About This Program

The VA Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) grant provides up to $6,800 for veterans with service-connected disabilities and up to $2,000 for non-service-connected conditions to modify their homes for accessibility. Eligible improvements include bathroom modifications, entry ramp installation, grab bar placement, and widened doorways. Veterans apply through their VA Medical Center's Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service using VA Form 10-0103.
