About This Program

The VA Special Home Adaptation (SHA) grant provides up to $25,350 in FY 2026 to improve mobility throughout the home for veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities. SHA typically addresses less extensive adaptations than SAH, such as widened doorways, accessible bathroom features, and stairlifts. The grant can be used up to three times within the lifetime limit.
