About This Program

FEMA's HMGP provides funding after a presidentially declared disaster to reduce future disaster losses. Homeowners cannot apply directly — local government applies on their behalf for projects like home elevation, floodproofing, acquisition, or relocation. Contact Sacramento County OES (Office of Emergency Services) to ask if an active HMGP cycle exists for your area.
