SMUD Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate

About This Program

SMUD offers rebates up to $4,000 for replacing a gas water heater with a qualifying heat pump water heater (NEEA Tier III or IV, UEF 2.87 or higher). Gas-to-electric conversions receive the highest rebates: $3,000 for 50-gallon, $3,500 for 65-gallon, and $4,000 for 80-gallon units. Electric-to-electric upgrades receive $1,000. An additional $2,000 Go Electric bonus may apply when bundled with other upgrades.
