SMUD partners with GRID Alternatives North Valley to provide free rooftop solar installations to income-qualifying homeowners in the Sacramento area through a California state program. Eligible households receive a donated and installed solar system that reduces electricity bills at no upfront cost. Income limits follow CARE/FERA guidelines.
