About This Program

FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program provides 75% federal funding (with 25% local match) for projects that reduce future disaster damage. Homeowners cannot apply directly but benefit when local governments apply on their behalf. The EBB seismic retrofit program is co-funded by FEMA HMGP. FEMA recently awarded $20 million to California for expanded earthquake protection programs.
