California Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)

About This Program

The federally funded Weatherization Assistance Program provides free energy efficiency improvements to income-qualified California households, reducing heating and cooling costs. Eligible measures include insulation, air sealing, window weatherstripping, and HVAC tune-ups. Households at or below 60% of State Median Income qualify, and those receiving SSI or TANF are automatically eligible.
