Legacy SMS support & opt-out

Contractor claims use email only

  1. 1. Find your listing

    Open your business listing on The Grant Map and choose to claim it.

  2. 2. Check the email on file

    The listing must have a usable public business email on file. If it does not, the listing is not claimable today.

  3. 3. Finish the email claim

    Request the email link, open it to preview the claim, then explicitly confirm the claim. Opening the link alone does not consume it.

No SMS claim consent is requested.

There is no text-code or manual possession-proof route. Support can help correct or remove a listing, but cannot substitute documents, a phone call, or a text response for control of the public business email on file.

Supported legacy SMS commands

  • STOP: records an SMS suppression so no further application-generated SMS is sent to that number while the suppression remains.
  • START: removes the SMS suppression and restores the prior SMS permission state.
  • HELP: returns product support information and the support email address.

Legacy SMS details

  • Message type: compliance or support replies required by a supported inbound STOP, START, or HELP command. No claim codes.
  • Who receives it: the number that sent the supported command. The claim page does not enroll a phone number in an SMS claim flow.
  • Message frequency: limited to replies required by a supported inbound command. Twilio or the carrier may send a standard acknowledgement.
  • Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
  • Marketing: we do not send proactive homeowner, marketing, promotional, project-offer, or cold-outreach texts.
  • Founder receipt: a separate founder-only receipt after a positive paid-lead settlement is an internal operations notice. It does not provide claim proof, contact a contractor, or change homeowner-contact access.
  • Help or opt out: reply STOP to record an SMS suppression, reply HELP for support information, or email support@thegrantmap.com to record an account-level block.
  • Privacy: No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; SMS command and suppression data are shared only with aggregators and providers needed to process the message. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (Section 14).
