About This Program

Provides grants to eligible low-income elderly and severely disabled homeowners and renters to modify or retrofit living quarters with physical improvements that assist with daily living. Typical installations include grab bars, wheelchair ramps, widened doorways, and accessible bathroom fixtures. Renters must obtain landlord approval before applying. FY 2025-26 funding: $1,210,594 CDBG.

Grant covers accessibility modifications up to $20,000; average grant is $15,000.
