About This Program

The HOMES (Helping Out Mecklenburg's homeowners with Economic Support) program provides grants of 35% of the Mecklenburg County property tax bill, up to $650, to qualifying homeowners. Funds are paid directly to the County Tax Collector to reduce the homeowner's tax liability. Households must have been the primary resident for at least three consecutive years and earn at or below 80% AMI.
