About This Program

The VA Specially Adapted Housing grant provides up to $126,526 (FY 2026) to veterans with severe service-connected disabilities to build, modify, or purchase an adapted home for independent living. The grant may be used up to 6 times within the lifetime cap. Veterans contact the Charlotte VA Health Care Center or Salisbury VA to initiate the process.
