About This Program

IHWAP provides free energy-related weatherization and repairs to income-eligible Illinois households, reducing heating and cooling costs and addressing health and safety hazards. Services include insulation, air sealing, HVAC repair or replacement, and more, delivered through local Community Action Agencies. Maximum benefit is $16,000 for energy work plus $3,500 for health and safety measures. Older adults, disabled individuals, and households with young children receive priority.
