About This Program

The VA Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grant provides up to $126,526 (FY 2026) to service-connected disabled veterans and servicemembers to build, buy, or modify a home to accommodate their disability. Qualifying disabilities include loss of use of both legs, certain blindness conditions, and other severe service-connected impairments. The grant can be used up to three times, not exceeding the aggregate lifetime limit.

Grant does not require repayment. VA North Texas HCS can assist with applications locally.
