About This Program

The VA HISA grant provides a lifetime benefit of up to $6,800 for veterans with service-connected conditions (or $2,000 for non-service-connected) to make medically necessary home modifications. Eligible modifications include permanent ramps, roll-in showers, widened doorways, lowered counters/sinks, and improved driveway access. A prescription from a VA healthcare provider is required. Renters may also qualify.
