Michigan Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) pays heating and utility bills for households at or below 110% of Federal Poverty Guidelines (crisis assistance up to 150% FPL). Heating benefit up to $2,205 per season; crisis assistance up to $900 in winter. Frees up cash for home repairs. Apply through Michigan MDHHS or Wayne Metro. The Michigan Home Heating Credit (MI-1040CR-7) provides additional state-level assistance, file by September 30, 2026.
