About This Program

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) helps eligible households pay heating and electric bills through federal LIHEAP funding. For 2025–2026, the maximum heating benefit is $2,147 and crisis assistance is capped at $1,200. One application covers both WHEAP and WAP weatherization. Apply online at energybenefit.wi.gov or through your local county WHEAP agency.
