About This Program

USDA Rural Development's Section 504 program provides very-low-income homeowners (≤50% AMI) with loans up to $50,000 to repair, improve, or modernize their homes. Homeowners age 62 or older who cannot repay a loan may receive grants up to $10,000 to remove health and safety hazards. The property must be in a USDA-eligible rural area — portions of greater Miami-Dade may qualify. Florida is included in the Materials Pilot Program for faster disbursement.

Most of Miami city is not USDA-rural eligible, but rural pockets of Miami-Dade (Homestead, Florida City, unincorporated south county) may qualify. Use the USDA Eligibility Site to check your address.
