Florida's flagship hurricane wind mitigation grant program, funded at $280 million for FY 2025-26. Homeowners receive a free wind mitigation inspection; the state then contributes $2 for every $1 the homeowner spends on approved upgrades (up to $10,000), or a full no-match grant of up to $10,000 for low-income applicants. Eligible homes must have a homestead exemption, an insured value under $700,000, and an original building permit issued before January 1, 2008.
Standard: state covers $6,667 if homeowner spends $3,333 (2:1 match). Low-income: state covers 100% up to $10,000.
