About This Program

USDA's Housing Preservation Grant program provides funds to nonprofits and public agencies in Louisiana to repair or rehabilitate homes owned or rented by very low-income persons, including the elderly. The Louisiana Housing Corporation coordinates HPG distribution. New Orleans-area nonprofits that receive HPG funds provide repairs to qualifying households at no charge.

Homeowners work with local nonprofit recipients of HPG funds. No direct application to LHC; find participating local organizations.
